Who says you have to go to prom with a date? It can be just as fun (and sometimes even MORE fun) to go with a group of friends!
Maybe your boyfriend dumped you at the last second, your date came down with the flu, or you just couldn’t find the right person to spend the time with. Who cares! You can have a great time by going to prom with a group of friends! Make plans to ride together, go to dinner together, and go to after-prom activities with them. Even if everybody else has a date, you’re still allowed to go with them – I mean, they’re not going to spend the entire evening together anyway!

Q. My boyfriend is moving two weeks before prom and can’t take me. I’ve decided to go by myself. Is there anything special I should do?
A. Good for you! You’ll have a fabulous time. Just make sure to follow these steps:
1. Make sure you have transportation and dinner plans lined up. You can pitch in on a limo ride with some of your best gal pals and go to a posh restaurant as a group. Don’t worry if everyone else has dates. You’re the lucky one who doesn’t have to share your dessert!
2. Once you arrive, don’t be a wallflower. Dance with your girl friends and ask to borrow your best friend’s date if you want to dance to a slow song. Just make sure she knows up front that you’re not trying to steal her man.
3. Get your picture taken. You spent all that time and money getting ready, so you deserve to get your prom photographs taken too. And as an added bonus, you won’t need to cut your date out of the picture if you guys break-up!
4. Have fun. Talk to others, meet some new people, and hang out with the DJ so he’ll play your favorite dance songs. This is your night, so live it up!
