New Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Lemonade Mouth’

It’s another musical for the Disney Channel, but can it compare to High School Musical, which was such a huge hit? Disney Channel has ordered an original movie based on the novel Lemonade Mouth.

According to THR, the novel is about, “the story of five Rhode Island freshmen who meet in detention and decide to form a garage band using unusual instruments, including a ukulele. The project’s title (and the band’s name) comes from a student-led protest in the book to save the school’s organic lemonade machine.”

Debra Martin Chase, who brought us ‘The Cheetah Girls‘ is heading up the project.

Reportedly Lemonade is going to debuted a few months after ‘Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam’ which is coming on September 3rd. That sounds pretty fast to me, but I think it’s possible!
