Emma Watson and Logan Lerman are reportedly in negotiations to star in Perks of a Wallflower. Variety reports that the duo are up for the indie film from author Stephen Chbosky.
The movie and book are narrated by a shy and unpopular teenager who describes his life by writing a series of letters to an anonymous person and explores the awkward times of adolescence, including drug use and sexuality.
This casting would mark the first feature role for Emma outside of her work as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films.

So cool! How AWESOME is this news??? I would LOVE to see these two in a movie together. I’m assuming Emma would play Sam, which is a completely different character from the ones she usually plays. It will be really nice to see her get to show off her range. Emma is one of the rare actresses who can play anything: drama, comedy, romance, horror, etc. She’s very talented.
I also love Logan Lerman and of course, John Malkovich. I really really hope this news is true!
But she has never played a role in a comedy, horror or a romance movie !!! She’s always in fantasy (harry potter)or drama (ballet shoes)or animation (the tale of desperaoux).. that’s all !
but this new role will change her track very differently.
