Alex Pettyfer is reportedly passing on playing Jace Wayland in the Mortal Instruments series.
Vulture magazine reveals, “Talks between Screen Gems and reps for Alex Pettyfer have reached an impasse even though he’s a top choice of vocal Cassandra Clare fans to play the role of Jace, insiders now say a deal won’t be made: We’re told that as much as Pettyfer likes the ‘Instruments’ series, he likes ‘The Last Apprentice’ books even more.”
Perhaps it can be chalked up to fond childhood memories but they hear he’s mostly excited about working with visually inventive Russian director Sergey Bodrov, who directed 2005′s Nomad and 2007′s Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan.

Oh my god. I was looking for pictures of actors who i pictured to be the ppl in these books and right after i saw a trailer for beastly a couple months ago I thought right away.:Him. So i just now was looking at pictures of him that i thought resembled Jace the most and then this.. Im sooooo excited that they are going to make Mortal Instruments movies but if Alex isnt Jace then idk who else could play him. I really hope this is wrong!
