Yesterday, Disney Friends for Change announced a line up of Disney stars who will serve as inaugural ambassadors for their program. Those stars include Debby Ryan (“Jessie”), Bella Thorne and Zendaya (“Shake It Up”), and Ross Lynch and Laura Marano (“Austin & Ally”).
The ambassadors will encourage kids and families to get involved and make a positive change in their communities and our planet.
In total, $750,000 will be awarded to the following three efforts:
- “Helping Communities – Volunteer,” led by Debby Ryan and in collaboration with Free The Children (from June 29 – August 16)
- “Helping People – Be a Leader,” featuring Bella Thorne and Zendaya, and in collaboration with Free The Children (from August 17 – September 27)
- “Helping the Planet – Green Your Scene,” championed by Ross Lynch and Laura Marano, and in collaboration with TreePeople (from September 28 – November 30)
Yesterday (June 18th) you might have noticed commercials featuring the new ambassadors. Also, debuting June 29th, Debby Ryan will share about her experiences in India through Disney Friends for Change with Free The Children, where she helped build a new school for a local village.

Who has been bullied here? I’m pretty sure that everyone here has been either emotionally or physically been bullied. I know I have been bullied because of my religion. I would come home crying everyday in 6th grade because of these kids. they would get in my face and just yell at me and say lies and they told everyone in school I felt like a total out cast the people that had crush’s on me stopped because of me being Jehovah’s witness. It was the worst year of my life! They thought I was crazy because of my religion and not celebrating holidays. The worst part was when I would just start crying in school I finally told some teachers and the counselor they did nothing about it the only one the cared was my orchestra teacher he tried to help as much as he could but it didn’t stop them. I finally just told my mom I wanted to be home schooled so she looked for a school that would let me start in the middle of the year we finally did so I ended school after winter break. After 2 years I wish I would have stayed in that school and stood up for myself. My next door neighbor goes to that school all I heard is about bullying I wish I would have stayed and made a difference in that school but I cant go back in to the future so now I want to make a change in the world because I know how it feels and it plan out sucks so we all need to help and make a difference
