This is such sad news for ‘Jane By Design‘ fans! THR reports the series will not be returning for a second season. The reason? Most likely the fact it didn’t bring in big ratings for ABC Family.
It averaged about 1.3 million per episode and ‘ended its 18-episode season with 1.2 million viewers in late July’.
A couple of the stars have spoken out on twitter about the cancellation. Erica Dasher, who played Jane, tweeted ‘Thank you so much for everything!!! It was incredible and you all are the best part of that experience. Love love love.’
India de Beaufort tweeted, ‘Its true no more JBD but we had a blast making it, and we love your for supporting it. #goodnightjanequimby.’
Nick Roux tweeted, ‘Want my #rouxers to hear this from me first. #JaneByDesign will NOT be coming back for a 2nd season.’

Totally disappointed! ABC Family is ridiculous! How does a ahow like Secret Life of the American Teenager (which is basically an innappropriate soap opera for *teens*) get renewed over and over again yet a fun, unique and entertaining show like JBD gets canceled?! So sad.
