It was announced earlier this week that Charlie Hunnam had dropped out of the 50 Shades of Grey film, due to his “immersive TV schedule”.
Contrary to Universal’s official statement though, a source has reportedly said that it was fears of being typecast that caused him to exit the project, according to US magazine People.
The source allegedly told them: “He dropped out of the project because he didn’t want to be typecast.
“He didn’t want the Robert Pattinson-esque attention that would come along with taking on this role.”
Another source apparently revealed to US Weekly that “Charlie Hunnam was never going to do Fifty Shades of Grey.
“He told his agents from the beginning he didn’t want to do it and was going to pull out.”
This seems to go against Hunnam’s recent insistence that he was looking forward to the film: “I’m taking it very seriously and intend to explore the nature of who this character is.”
And the great Hollywood mystery continues….so who will play Christian Grey? Who do you think should be the gorgeous billionaire? Tell us!
